Academic Representatives Training
The training is delivered by the Learner Development Unit (LDU). The first part of the training takes place in several on-campus evening sessions during October and November. The emphasis is on fun, active learning, covering the essential skills every Academic Representative needs: giving and receiving feedback, problem solving, creative thinking and meeting skills. The sessions also offer all sorts of information about how the University works.
The induction is compulsory if you wish to register for accreditation and to get a certificate at the end of the year.
The 2010/11 Training Sessions
These dates and times are for the practical training sessions for new Academic Representatives. The sessions are designed to ensure that Academic Representatives are prepared for their role and we would strongly encourage all new reps to attend one of the sessions.
The times and dates are at a variety of times to suit students with different timetables.
Extra training sessions are available at request, please contact either Matt Wysocki or Mark Dawson to arrange.
An online version of the material covered will be released following the sessions. This is designed to support those not able to make the practical training sessions and serve as a reminder to those that did attend a session of the material covered. Details regarding this will be emailed to all registered Representatives.

IMPORTANT – PLEASE NOTE THE REQUEST BELOW!
Could you please ask all representatives to confirm to Mark Dawson m.dawson3@bradford.ac.uk which session they are most likely to attend.
This allows us to monitor and manage numbers to ensure we don’t get too many students turning up to the same session and allows us to avoid issues with room capacity.
All enquiries regarding further/alternative training opportunities may also be directed to Mark.
Thanks you in advance for your consideration and co-operation with this!
