Our current campaigns

Find out about our current campaigns in the new year.

Our past campaigns

The University of Bradford Union actively supports many campaigns, details of which can be found outside the sabbs offices. Below is just a sample of recent campaigns.

Let Khaled Study
Let Khaled StudyBradford Union of students initiated and gave rise to a successful campaign to support a fellow student Khaled Al Muddallal who had been trapped in Gaza for six months, thus missing out on his final year of his Business Management Degree. University of Bradford Union, alongside the NUS Black Students Campaign, launched a large-scale national campaign for the release of Khaled, to have access to his education. For more info on the campaign please email ubu-eew@bradford.ac.uk or go to www.letpalstudy.org.uk.

Kick Racism Out
Kick Racism OutThe Kick Racism Out campaign was supported by University of Bradford Union as part of their continued commitment to tackle racism, celebrate diversity and address exclusion. Both the men’s and women’s first team help raise awareness by wearing t-shirts to encourage others to support the campaign as well. This is a campaign that the student union will support every year. If you would like more information or you’d like to get involved email
ubu-sao@bradford.ac.uk.

Free Arnold
Free Arnold CampaignThis year a student called Arnold was detained by the Home Office, for no fault of his own, they had decided that Arnold should go back to Republic of Burundi from where he had escaped the African nation’s brutal ethnic violence in 2003. Arnold was due to be deported with only 4 months left before he finished his degree and was given no chance to appeal. The Union with a friendly lawyer took an application to the High Court and we won a chance for him to study. 4 months later, Arnold graduated with a good degree.

If you have a immigration problem or want to find out more about the campaign please email either Naheeda Kauser (immigration advisor) n.kauser8@bradford.ac.uk or ubu-ust@bradford.ac.uk.
