What do Academic Reps do?
Academic Representatives not only collect and forward the feedback from fellow students - they help to shape the future. Reps work closely with the University and the Students’ Union to improve the student experience on many different levels.
Throughout the year, you will represent your fellow students at the Student Staff Liaison Committees. However, you can get much more out of your experience by additionally becoming a Department/Division/Programme Rep or a School Rep. Here are brief descriptions of different roles:
1. Academic Rep
• Collects feedback from students
• Member of the Student Staff Liaison Committee
2. Department/Division/Programme Rep
• Collects feedback from students
• Member of the Student Staff Liaison Committee
• Member of the Student Academic Council
3. School Rep
• Collects feedback from students
• Member of the Student Staff Liaison Committee
• Member of the Student Academic Councils
• Member of the School Board
• Member of the Students’ Union Council
• Member of the University Senate (highest academic body of the University)
• Delegated to the National Union of Students Course Reps Conference
