In this election there were a total of 321 votes. Elections committee made the decision to deduct 15% of the votes from candidates Kelechi Ozuru and Imad Faghmaus due to issues during the campaign.

 In round 1 Kelechi “KayCee”

Lawrence Ozuru had 74 votes; Imad Faghmaus 111; Kahil St. Aimee 49; Dom Smith 55 and RON 0. As no one had reached quota the lowest scoring candidate was dismissed, which was RON, but had no votes to move so round 2 was the same.

 In round

2 Kahil St. Aimee was excluded with the lowest votes. In this round, all of the remaining candidates got an extra 7 votes, bringing Kelechi “KayCee” Lawrence Ozuru to 81; Imad Faghmaus to 118 and Dom Smith to 62.

 As no one had still reached quota, Dom Smith was excluded and his votes re-distributed. This gave Kelechi “KayCee” Lawrence Ozuru an extra 2 votes, bringing him to 83 votes. Imad Faghmaus got an extra 5 votes, bringing him to 123 votes.

 Though still no one had achieved quota, no more candidates could be excluded, therefore Imad Faghmaus is elected media and entertainments officer.

Great Bradford Students, My name is Kelechi, popularly known as "KC" and I think you deserve a Media and Entertainment officer who will deliver top class Media and superb Entertainment to enhance your student experience.
 
I was in charge of ACS's entertainment for year and organised one of the most successful events by Bradford Students "The Seduction" party.
 
 The media areas are key to sustaining a strong Union and making your voice audible and helping you to enjoy studying at Bradford so I will expand our media areas and make full use of our new Union facilities for top class entertainments for all. None alcoholic events and events for women only will also be on my agenda.
 
I aim to start-up a new aspect to our media area, the UBU-TV which will be an on demand TV station like the BBC i-player. Students will be able to showcase their work - documentaries, short films, intervirews, shows - it's going to be great!
 
I intend to boost the funding of RamAir through some ethical sponsorship and partnerships, also to fuel the work of ramaid and expand the publicity for our Cinema. The Bradford Student is a great paper and I aim to sustain the great work Phil does.
 
Please bring me any other ideas you have and we talk through them. Your choices are clear in this election, please vote the best.

I will keep this simple and brief, far too much has already been  written, with questionable results.
 
EVENTS UP TO THIS POINT ARE NOT INCLUSIVE, NEGLECT A MASSIVE NUMBER OF  THE STUDENT BODY AND IN ALL HONESTY DON’T REFLECT WELL ON YOUR UNION.
 
Kanja the previous officer has set the foundations for change, I will  now FINISH THE JOB.
 
Elect me and I WILL, not promise but WILL:
 
1. Ensure that an inclusive and exciting event occurs on campus daily,  this is not an empty promise the logistics and costs have already been  taken into account and this is completely doable with the correct  skill and knowhow.
 
2. I will ensure that there is NO COMPRAMISE for students who wish to  have an active social life but do not want to partake in drinking or  clubbing. Events will run along side FND that are inclusive and can be  taken part in by EVERYONE.
 
3. I will initiate a MASSIVE reform of the student paper.
 
4. I have looked at the unions of the top universities in the UK such  as Oxford, Cambridge and many others. I will take the best these  unions have to offer and adapt them here
 
5. I will RESTORE CAMPUS PRIDE

I am a final year History student and I have been very active in the Union as Societies Federation Vice-President and Manager of the Student Cinema. While working within the Union I have gained a wide range of experiences which I believe would be a great asset to improve on the Media areas as the Union moves into “Student Central”- the new communal building.

The new build is meant to get more students involved with the Union and though the media team has hosted a range of events there has been a lack of student participation. Therefore it is I aim to use the Media Committee to allow students (sports and societies) to actively participate in the planning of Union Events so that Alcoholic and Non-alcoholic events can become the social time that everyone deserves.

With only one full time staff member in the area, involving students in the planning will not only ensure that the nature of the events is varied but the immense work load is cut. Working together will make FND, RamAir, The Bradford Student and the Bradford Student Cinema great.


All the media areas have worked long and hard over the past year, especially RamAir lets not put it to waste. I will concentrate on making the media areas the pride of our student body.

 The new communal building means that we will have our own venue back therefore it is time to show that Bradford’s Got Talent.

University without entertainment are like sandwiches with no filling, it’s still a sandwich, but it’s not appetizing.

With the new union build, we have massive opportunities to reshape the entertainment and media and this is something that shouldn’t be missed!

I wish to:-
• improve inter-media communications and collaborations
• see more for international students than just trips to English cities and IKEA
• make a complete website review and update
• use golden ticket FND’s for sports, societies and media fundraising
• research into using volunteering in media for module credits
• create a new music festival , with a stage specifically for local and unsigned bands
• construct a union app for blackberries and iPhones

I’ve been active in the union for quite a few years; being president of Archery for two years, working Bars and Tech at FND and Flirt and spending the last two years as chief engineer and station manager for RamAir.

During this time I have been part of the team for the new union build and have designed the way the new station will look and function, ensuring the space to try new ideas and to future-proof the studios.

Growth of our university will heavily depend on Media and Entertainment. The only way to make your time at university the best of your life is to ensure that we have an active, strong and dedicated union, understanding what students want and need.

I have worked in the past with many different organizations that help people with disabilities; including becoming a Millennium volunteer with over 500 hours work experience with mentally and/or physically disabled kids. As an epileptic I understand the problems having a disability can cause, and how frustrating it is when no-one wants to listen.

My plan of action for the next academic year is

~To raise awareness about issues related to disability and the students it effects

~To help provide a campus that is accessible to all

~To challenge the University into providing equality for disabled students.

I'm a 28 year old Mum of a 3 year old daughter, going into my final 
year of a social work BA. As, I hope, this brief biography suggests, I 
like to keep busy, and would like to request your vote to be Student 
with Dependant/s Officer.
 
I seek this position for 2 major reasons.
 
Firstly, I would like greater support from the University for 
the particular challenges students with dependents face. More can be done to 
help, and I will work to release funds for events, forums and crèches so we can support each other and present a unified front on the issues that matter to us.
 
Secondly (and sorry to have to bring the economy into this) but parents and carers must think of the future. Yes, we are all grateful for our loans and benefits (btw, I will also ensure we are all informed of what benefits are available), But what of these cuts we hear so much about? The Union needs a strong voice representing us.
 
I believe I possess that voice. 
 
I have worked for 7 years for the Dept of Work and Pensions, I have 
engaged in many community projects and I am studying for a social work 
degree. If anyone should know about public policy, it’s me.
 
Oh. There's a third reason too…. it will make my daughter very proud of me. (If she has a clue what a union is.)
