The Students̵ Awards 2011
The Students Union held its first Students Awards Nig t on Wednesday, 23rd March. Taking place in the Great Hall, the event brought together students and staff from across the University.
The awards celebrated the work university and union staff has carried out together throughout the year as well as teaching.
The Awards ceremony was organised by the current Academic Affairs Officer Mateusz ‘Matt’ Wysocki.
The night was deemed a huge success by both students and staff in attendance, complete with glamorous, custom designed awards for the winners.
The ceremony was presented by Phil Lickley, the Student’s Union Media and Marketing Coordinator. Who made no effort to hold back on many brave yet cheesy jokes. There should have been an award for the jokes themselves.
Awards were also presented to lecturers for outstanding teaching excellence. Lectures were nominated by students. The winners were decided through a committee.
Live music was also provided by a student band, with l= ead vocalist Anis. Technical support was provided by Gareth Jones, TSA, and Rachelle Hunt, Media and Ents Officers Elect.
