Climate change. It’s a big scary thing but don’t let it get to you. Take action instead! Here’s a bunch of things you can do:
You could cycle or walk to lectures. You’ll be getting some exercise to help combat that Fresher’s Flab and helping the environment. Or you can take the new FREE BUS into town or to the train stations - see this article for more information.
Check out www.bbc.co.uk/bloom for ways you can make your life more eco friendly and networkforclimateaction.org.uk for ideas and information on how to take action against climate criminals.
Turn off lights and computers and stuff. You’re still paying for the energy your lights and TV and computer use even when you aren’t using them. Turn them off; otherwise you’ll get a horrible shock when you open your first electricity bill.
Eat yummy local seasonal food. It makes sense really-who wants stews and mash in summer or salads in winter?

Eating less meat (or even going vegan) will massively reduce your climate impact. Check out the farmers market on Bank St:
You can also pick up kitchenware and more at the UBoutique!
Please go further and look at our great links page for some of the places you would like to at
You can recycle pretty much anything on campus, from cans and bottles to plastic and mobile phones (at the union shop). If you think of anything we should recycle but don’t, email ubu-eew@brad.ac.uk with your suggestion.
