Your chance to win £200 of Crank-it-up bikes and equipment!
UBU has launched a recycling competition to increase our recycling rates!
In 2007 75% of our waste went to landfill. Today that figure is just 40% and we are continuing to work hard to bring that figure down further.
This competition is really important as the levels of correct recycling in Student Central have been poor with many of the bins being contaminated (e.g. plastic bottles being put in the paper recycling).
This spring we’ll be simplifying the recycling bins to make it even easier to do your bit for the environment. Instead of five different bins to choose from, there’ll be just three;
Pure Paper and Card
Other Mixed Recyclables
Landfill Waste
These 3 bins are the ones which need the characters designed.
Compostable waste from kitchen areas, cafe etc across campus will be composted in Rocket Composter behind the Library.
The competition closes on Monday 28th Feb and the winners will be chosen in the second week of March.
