Our student handbook is the first student publication of the year. Full of information on the surrounding area, year-round union-based activities and other services such as clubs and societies.
The student handbook is an invaluable reference guide to the first year at university. Local and national companies have an excellent opportunity to highlight their locations to students and also their parents, who often refer to the handbooks before the start of the academic year.
Our wall planner give clients a permanent presence in the students' day to day lives. Often placed in communal areas, clients are likely to reach many more than one student per product unit. This is a highly effective add-on medium to any freshers' campaign and provides a constant reminder to the students of the your brand. Bradford Student
Advertising within our official student title, distributed regularly during term time to our students.
This form of on-line advertising entails embedding an advertisement into our student organisation's web page. Banners can be static or animated and rotate in order between each banner on an internal click or refresh on the web page. It's found at the top of the website, within the header for maximum exposure and usually placed on the right hand side. Each banner added is a GIF file, animated or static. Banner adverts give clients a visual opportunity to promote and attract students to their services or product and banners allow clients to direct student straight to their on-line services through url linking. Banners are highly visible, offering direct links to clients' websites, particularly aiding clients with a strong internet presence.
We understand that not all clients wish to run standard forms of promotions, especially when attempting to publicise upcoming events or exhibitions. Sometimes you don't have the time or resources to produce an artwork campaign and need to get the message across instantly. Just as newsprint offers clients the opportunity to run news advertorials, so too does our website, with the added benefit of built in RSS feeds.
Our RSS Feed News advertorial service allows clients to promote their news article, promotion bulletin, event or whatever else they choose directly onto the homepage of our website. With many students subscribing to RSS feeds, this is an instant and direct promotional channel to the online student population. RSS Feed News Advertorials make the client the top news story for at least 24 hours from their confirmed starting time. During this period no other new story will be added above the promoting advertorial. After this the advertorial naturally filters down on the homepage then through archived news pages within the website. RSS web advertorials are particularly valuable to clients who needs results for an event or promotion at short notice. For a limited period, they are the news. This medium offers major search engine optimisation benefits and because the client is promoted as a "news story" as much as an advertiser, they get maximum exposure combined with a highly accessible presentational format.
Lozenges are hard-coded advert boxes, usually positioned within the lower left navigation bar on virtually every section of our student organisation website. Unlike banner adverts, lozenges are individual placements and do not rotate or share the same area with other adverts and remain in the same location on internal clicks or page refreshes.
Lozenges are a great way to have a constant link to your own website on virtually every page of another site. Each Lozenge advert is a static Jpeg, GIF or PNG image with alt-text provided by the client, giving clients search engine optimisation, significantly raising their search ranking among their competitors.

We are happy to allow advertisers onto their premises to speak with their students and promote their products. We have limited space which is booked out in advance, so book early to save disappointment.
Refresher's Fair is held annually during Refresher's week (the first week before lectures begin). Much the same as the Freshers' Fair at the start of the year, providing you with an opportunity to speak to the student populous face to face on mass.
We can get a flyering campaign organised with the our own promotions team at exclusive locations to distribute leaflets on your behalf. This often not only includes areas in and around the student organisation but across campus, and where possible, directly to halls of residence. Leaflets can be booked at short notice, and distribution can number in the thousands at any one time - mass coverage at very competitive rates.
On arrival at university we place welcome packs on the beds of students welcoming them to university. Welcome packs will consist of samples and local university information and this is your opportunity to be included in this.
Students during this time will often be experiencing their first taste of independence and will start to form brand alliances as well as get a feel for the local area. This could include the brand of washing powder they purchase through to which supermarket they will become loyal to. Many students arriving on campus will not have all managed to bring all of the essentials along with them because of travelling constraints and therefore parents and students will often search the local area looking for everything from duvets to door stops, coat hangers through to filling their cupboards with food. Hall Drops give businesses the opportunity to provide students and their parents with key local store information, and often through the use of discount vouchers encourage students and parents into store. This is also a perfect opportunity to introduce students to the local area and let them know where your business is.
Advertise on our plasma screens which are placed in various popular high footfall areas. Usually displaying music videos and other student friendly content, these screens offer an excellent way to catch students attention as they relax with friends. Adverts are displayed on rotation alongside the main screen.
Posters can be used effectively and to great success to promote your product or services to students. The size, type and location of poster boards can vary greatly but one thing is certain...when done correctly they can have great impact. Our poster advertising is a very cost effective means of advertising, and offers a continued presence onsite.
Fresher's mailings offer an integrated and associated form of advertising, so inserts will be actively viewed by the target audience and not just thrown aside. Parents of the students are often present when the mailings are received and will probably view the content of the packs, so whether your primarily interested in targeting the students or their parents, this is a great way to make an initial impact.
Booking deadlines for this medium are much earlier than other freshers' media, and the size and weight restrictions associated with postage mean spaces are often limited. Book early to avoid disappointment.
Goody bags provide an ideal opportunity to get samples directly into the hands of our new arrivals; distributed annually at the fresher's fair, they provide an excellent sampling and promotional platform.
Goody bags are handed out directly from our student organisations stall within the fair along with essential items such as the annual handbook and membership cards. Why not insert a branded item which will be used again and again by the student, creating long term brand awareness? These "freebies" are well received and used with enjoyment.
